ahh hey man its okay!! sorry i got back to you so late, i dont really use DA much anymore. To be honest, i commented that when i was in a really bad place and was just angry at myself, and at anything that i felt was out to get me (even if it meant something as small as my brother finishing a bottle of soda) but things are better now so i apologize it came off so rude! Thank you for changing your name, and being honest about your mistake. I really appreciate it and im sorry if i worried you!
And dont say that!! You still have a ton to learn and i can PROMISE you that the more you do it, the better you will get. Remind yourself to love everything you create and dont get upset when something goes wrong. fill your brain with as much inspiration as you can!! dont be afraid to use references and tutorials!A cool trick i learned that helped me develope my style is take a sketchbook, can be whatevr quality you want, and ONLY sketch in pen. that way you cant erase and you end up learning a ton! I lik to redraw art i find inspiring to try out styles or to try out a technique i learned, just dont post it if you do that same thing without an artists permission. I never do an rarely mention that i do it to anyone but my close friends because ome artists REALLY dont like to know their art is being referenced.
You arent a bad artist, youre learning, and so long as you keep that passion to continue to draw and want to get better, you will eventually reach the same if not a higher level of technical understanding as i have!
Keep in mind, im 18. Ive been drawing since i was 11 and got my first tablet. My old stuff is all on my old account if youd like to stroll through that, i hope seeing where i came from and where i am now will help you feel more inspired! its
www.deviantart.com/thelazyrule… im not sure how old you are, but youhave plenty o time to learn and grow, promise.
Having a negative outlook on the things you create will make it harder to learn. Teach yourself to love your mistakes because theyre incredible opportunities to learn from. instead of "i suck at art, i can draw this thing at all" try "yknow, i messed up this nose alot so maybe i should go look up ways other artists draw them and try again!" taking bits and pieces from how your favorite artists draws is perfectly okay!! (dont copy them completely though, please. you cant own a style but common etiquette should tell you how upsetting having your whole way of doing something taken is)
If you'd like me too, i can send you some cool art advice posts i found on instagram, as well as show you some of the things that inspire me.
I might not reply here, but im guaranteed to reply on my instagram which is where i currently am active on.
